Crico-Thyroid Muscle System OR Falsetto

The Crico-Thyroid Muscle System produces a texture of sound that some would call falsetto voice.

This muscle system is responsible for stretching and thinning the cords, so we sing on pitch, neither flat nor sharp. This muscle system also opens the cords. For that reason, it is vital for voice development that there be coordination with the arytenoid muscle system, which closes the cords.
