Feeding Air To the Tone

Written by Allen Rascoe | Apr 23, 2026 6:29:06 PM

The sensation of feeding air to the tone refers to a steady flow of air.

We neither push air nor hold it back, but experience the vocal and breathing muscles being in sync.

The vocal muscles are in charge, and the breathing muscles will happily respond. We will feel like we are supplying to the tone a steady stream of mental energy and excited air set in motion by the vocal muscles. The tone stays alive with appropriate movements, given the emotional needs of text and music.
